IPad 2 :: Garageband Songs Lost - Green Symbols With An Arrow Are Displayed On The Songs
Jun 2, 2012I was syncing my iPad 2 to iTunes while uploading some of my songs in garageband to iCloud. After iTunes syncing, my iPad crashed and went into a boot loop. A hard reset did the trick, but now the songs I was trying to upload are transparent. Green symbols with an arrow are displayed on the songs. (see attached pic) I cannot open the songs, cannot remove them from iCloud. Anyone knows how I can get them back?
Importing Files Into Garageband For IPad 2?
Mar 11, 2011I was very excited about Garageband being released for the iPad. I downloaded it last night and love it, but I noticed there seem to be a couple of missing features (understandable since it's a mobile version).
1) I tried to import Garagband files from my mac but they weren't recognized by the app.
2) I used to love coming up with a melody using the virtual piano and then experimenting by changing the instrumentation, say to guitar etc.
It seems like with the iPad version you have to stay within the instrument family? At the end of the day, it's not a big deal. I was just wondering if anyone else noticed these issues too? I suppose they could always address such things in future updates?

IPad 4 :: Garageband Not Syncing ICloud Songs From IPhone 4s
Jun 29, 2013So I'm trying to send some songs from my iPhone 4S to my iPad 4 with garageband. The file on my iPhone has the little cloud on it so its supposed to be in the cloud right? But my iPad just won't download the file!
It's supposed to happen automatically right? I've tried resetting the iPad, turning wifi on and off, gave it a few hours.. I'm lost!

Remote App - Setting To Show ALL Songs By An Artist Instead Of Songs With An Album Field Filled In
Apr 30, 2011IPad, iTunes and Remote are all updated. I created a new playlist on the MacBook Pro from the Remote app on the iPad. I'm searching for a specific song, but I'm browsing by ARTIST. Remote then organizes the songs under that artist by album. I can't see songs by that artist that have no album assigned. Is there a setting I'm missing to show ALL songs by an artist instead of songs with an album field filled in? (Again, iTunes library on MBP, but being controlled by iPad Remote app)
Deleting Songs In The IPod? - Songs Synced From ITunes
Jun 25, 2010I've run out of storage capacity for my 16GB iPad. I haven't downloaded any videos, games or photos, but I've synched all 3,007 songs from my iTunes account. I could probably free up some storage by deleting a couple thousand (or more) songs, but the owner's manual doesn't explain how to delete songs which were synched directly from the iTunes account, only songs which were included in a new playlist created in the iPad. Any help with how to delete a good portion of the 3,007 songs synched from iTunes
Won't Use Garageband / Can't Install
Sep 18, 2010Can one install and use either Garageband or Login on an iPad? I'm interested in using it as a portable recorder, employing either one of those programs. If not, are there particular apps that people recommend for multitrack recording? I'm familiar with some of them from my iPhone, although I've not used any of them much due to the limitations of the phone itself. But the iPad seems a lot more interesting in this context.

Garageband App Availability?
Apr 12, 2010I'd buy one today if I could use it with Garageband. Garageband ipad track view play a to b. The flexibility of being able to take it anywhere and record/edit tracks, considering it's size and the excellent screen, would make it worth the money to me.
Just wondering if anyone has seen/heard anything about such an app. There would have to be a way to use the USB port as an input, but other than that, you could save the files the your mac but be able to move it around so easily..would be great.

Use It With MacBook Pro GarageBand?
Apr 19, 2012It is possible to link the iPad and a MacBook pro together so I can control/use smart instruments and have the data recorded into GarageBand on the MacBook pro? I know there is the gbtouch app, but that looks like it will only cOntrol things like levels and other mixing type things. I kinda would like to use the iPad like you would a midi controller keyboard.
GarageBand To IMovie
Apr 7, 2011I haven't found a way to take a file I've made in GarageBand and put in something I'm working on in iMovie.I know I can do it once I've done a sync to iTunes, but I'm wondering if there is another way. I've been creating several videos on the iPad and wanted to use GarageBand while on the fly.

Get Song From GarageBand To My PC To Mp3?
Jan 9, 2012I'm new here and to Apple products in general. I just got an iPad2 and I recorded a song in GarageBand using the Apogee Jam (which is awesome, by the way). But I don't know how to get that song from the iPad to my PC and to a mp3. While in GarageBand, I've tried to 'share sopng via iTunes' and then I sync'd my iPad with my PC via iTunes, but I still don't see my song anywhere. Then I tried to do it again, and I got the message that the song alrady exists on iTunes.
How Much Space Does GarageBand Take When You Use It A Lot
Mar 16, 2011When the first iPad was released, I bought the 32GB version and after a while, I thought that it would have been better to buy the 16GB model, because I mainly used it for browsing or using apps, but not for putting movies on it. And I don't need to have all my songs on it.
Anyway, now I'm thinking about buying the 16GB iPad 2, but I wonder. Does GarageBand takes a lot of space when you use it a lot and compose many projects with it?I wonder if GarageBand creates sort of an mp3 file for each song you compose or does it play it live with kind of text files, if you see what I mean.

Use Garageband In A Live Setting?
May 2, 2012I am just wondering if I can use my iPad2 with garageband to play at church. I just want to run my guitar through the program and out to our soundboard. Will this work? Will it sound like crap? I don't want to use pre-recorded tracks or anything.. I just want to use the sounds from garageband and the effects it provides for my guitar.

Garageband Or IMovie: Plan On Using The Most?
Mar 3, 2011I'm leaning more towards Garageband. I heard that the Gorillaz produced a whole album with their iPad using multiple apps and I'm with what I can create with just this one app. I do plan on using iMovie, but I'm more of a music guy at heart. Which do you plan on using/purchasing?
GarageBand for iPad: GarageBand allows you to record, make arrangements and mix music, and share it later with everyone. GarageBand includes a complete recording studio, a set of instruments and effects with professional quality and a huge library of prerecorded sounds that you can use in your projects. Whether you are an experienced musician or have never composed music before, with Garageband for pc you can create your own songs, podcasts and tones.

How To Add Apple Loops
GarageBand comes with a large collection of Apple Loops, which are prerecorded musical phrases of various genres, instruments and styles that you can add to your projects. The loops are recorded so that it is possible to create repetitive models without interruptions, which can be lengthened (creating “loops”) as long as necessary. The good thing about using Apple Loops in a GarageBand project is that you can mix loops recorded in different keys and tempos with total freedom because then they all play in the key and tempo of the project.
Today, most of the music is based on repetitive rhythmic patterns (also called “grooves” or “riffs”), especially percussion, bass and other accompaniment parts. To create music in a groove style, and effective way to work is to add drum loops and then incorporate bass loops and other rhythm parts. This allows you to define the rhythmic sensation of the project and also create a basic arrangement by blocking fragments with different grooves. Once the rhythmic bases are ordered, you can record vocals and instruments to add the main vocals, harmonic parts and solos.
You can quickly define the feel of a project by adding Apple Loops. From GarageBand, it is very easy to search for loops that match your criteria, preview them and add them to the temporary control.
How to Create Your own Apple Loops Loop
You can save recordings as Apple Loops. When you save a passage as an Apple Loops loop, it is added to the loop library and displayed in the loop browser, so you can use it in other projects. Apple Loops loops that you
create from recorded passages fit the tempo and key of the project, just like the Apple Loops loops included in GarageBand. To save a passage as an Apple Loops loop.
